Have you heard that Chalo’s La Casa Reynoso is back!? Their chicken and steak fajitas were my favorite. Not only are they up and running, but they will be adding delivery with Down2Deliver starting on Monday, May 18th.
I’m especially excited because I had my first job at Chalo’s. I was a 15-year-old Freshman at Safford High School. Three of my good friends were already working there. I was very interested in getting a job, so I asked if they were hiring. I was super excited when I got hired on.
I started out as a busser, cleaning all the tables after the customers left. I did that for a while until I got moved up to a waitress. Training to be a waitress was pretty exciting. I learned all the abbreviations for the food we had on the menu. Carrying more than two plates out to the customers was so much fun. Each crew helped each other, by running plates out to their tables. Sitting customers in their sections and taking drink orders. Some sections in the restaurant were busier than others. So we all made sure we took care of one another. We each had our own duties to help keep the restaurant clean and stocked. I met some great people working at Chalo’s. The management was great. They treated us all like family. Thursday nights we served all you can eat ribs. Those nights were super busy and I remember we were always so packed. The bar was always so busy as well. Chalo’s being back it makes me think of all the great memories I had working there. It was a big part of my high school years. I’m super happy that Shane brought it back to our Gila Valley community.
Be sure to call in an order a green chili relleno with a side of rice and beans next time you get hungry for authentic food from the World Famous Salsa Trail!
