My name isBrittany, I am the pageant director of Uptown Princess. I remember watching beauty pageants on TV all the time. They just amazed me, and I fell in love with watching them. Seeing all those confident women on stage, oh how I wanted to be up there one day. I never had the confidence as they did, so I just watched from the sidelines. One thing I did tell myself when I have a daughter, I hope she loves them as much as me. For I will teach her to be confident, and she can show the world what she’s made of! Now that I have a daughter of my own she has competed in a few. These beauty pageants weren’t exactly what I was looking for. Don’t get me wrong they were wonderful but I knew there was something missing. Living in a small community I would have to travel out of town or state to find exactly what I was looking for. Traveling became pricey from the beginning. Purchasing a dress, outfits, gas, and hotels definitely added up. So this is where the idea came into mind of putting together my own pageants for my community. I wanted to introduce our community to a different side of the pageant industry. How does one start a pageant I asked myself. So, I did a lot of research for about 2 years on how to put together a pageant. Watched tons of videos on pageants, paid attention to every detail. It's definitely not an easy task to do all by yourself, so my Fiance Michael stepped up to help me make these pageants possible. He knew how much this meant to me. We worked together on making this all happen, and bring this new different event to our town. With these pageants we wanted each of them to have a theme, and different from one after the next. We have hosted 2 pageants in our community. We are hoping and pushing for it to grow into something bigger. The first beauty pageant turned out exactly how I pictured it would. We had so many wonderful amazing talented contestants. They hold a special place in my heart. Each and everyone of them helped make this possible. Most people think beauty pageants are all about beauty but they're not. There's so much more to them. I believe it will help young girls and young women with their confidence, their strengths, and raise their self esteem about themselves. Something I wish I could have had growing up. I guess, I can now say I have that confidence. Getting up there on stage and sharing my story of becoming a Pageant Director. I'm focusing on setting an example for all these young girls and young women that your goals are possible. One of my goals has finally come true and I couldn’t be happier. My goal isn’t finished because there is so much that needs to be done. All I know is that it has opened many doors to a brighter future! So remember don’t hold back, push yourself to succeed in all your ambitions!!! May y'all shine bright like a diamond, and continue to be courageous! Yours Truly Brittany ❤
